From reforestation to biodiversity conservation, we’re driving eco-friendly practices, pursuing solutions to reduce our carbon footprints, and creating a greener future for Nigeria and the planet.
NLNG’s environmental initiatives are designed to protect ecosystems, combat climate change, and promote sustainable development
Green Recovery Initiative
The Green Recovery Initiative focuses on reforestation and coastal erosion control, ensuring the preservation of Nigeria’s natural habitats
In 2023, NLNG planted 60,000 red mangroves, 2,225 Cleistopholis patens, and 900 coconut trees along shorelines to combat erosion, with an 80% survival rate. These efforts restore degraded forests, protect coastal areas, and enhance biodiversity, contributing to a healthier ecosystem.

Air Emission Control

At NLNG, we are committed to minimising emissions from our operations abatement at the source. In initial environmental investigations, we used detailed environmental studies to understand how any emissions could spread and where they might settle.
