Train 7

NLNG’s Train 7 Project is an important milestone in our journey of growth, innovation, and sustainability.

Building on our drive to inspire a sustainable future, Train 7 will increase our production capacity by 35%, from 22 Million Tonnes Per Annum (mtpa) to 30 mtpa, solidifying Nigeria’s position as a top-tier LNG supplier.

Since commencing operations in 1999 with a two-train plant, NLNG rapidly expanded to a six-train facility, delivering over 6,000 LNG cargoes to international buyers.
This remarkable growth has earned us a reputation for operational excellence, which the Train 7 project will enhance. The Final Investment Decision (FID) for Train 7 was made on December 27, 2019. In May 2020, the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contract was awarded to the SCD JV Consortium, which includes affiliates of Saipem, Chiyoda, and Daewoo.
Train 7 will further harness Nigeria’s vast 202 trillion cubic feet of proven gas reserves - the 9th largest globally - to meet growing global energy demands in an energy transition era.
The project underscores NLNG’s commitment to innovation, environmental stewardship, and value creation for Nigeria. Train 7 is a commitment to a sustainable energy future. By leveraging advanced technologies and best practices, the project will minimise environmental impact while maximising efficiency and safety.
