NLNG COMPLETES BUP 1 AHEAD OF SCHEDULE
At precisely 15.25hrs on the 28th of September 2000, Nigeria LNG successfully loaded its last LNG cargo for Build Up Period 1 (BUP1) two days ahead of schedule.
During the period (March to September 2000) 46 instead of the planned 42 LNG cargoes were loaded and shipped from Nigeria LNG’s Plant on Bonny Island and delivered to Customers. 42 of the LNG cargoes were shipped to Long Term Buyers in Europe while 4 were sold to its United States Spot Buyers.
Nigeria LNG’s Marketing Manager, Reg Stanley said " We have done excellently well, the speed at which we have met our customers’ needs has been excellent and I am glad we have earned their confidence. Right now we are swamped with buyers wanting to buy our products, including our competitors. What we are experiencing today is the product of hard work and it has earned Nigeria, and Nigeria LNG a place of pride in the International Gas Market "
Earlier in the year, the Company successfully completed the Initial Supply Period (ISP) on schedule with the export of 19 LNG cargoes.
Nigeria LNG, which commenced the production of LNG on the 15th of September 1999 has exported 65 LNG cargoes to its Customers in Europe and America.
