Production resumes at NLNG Plant: 4TH LNG Cargo Departs
Production of Liquefied Natural Gas has resumed at the NLNG Plant in Bonny Island after it was shut down for maintenance work which was completed on the 16th of December.
The company's Managing Director and Chief Executive, Mr Andrew Jamieson said "The plant was re-started, and following successful cool down, LNG production was resumed as of the 19th December". He further pointed out that the company took advantage of the Initial Supply Period (ISP) which allows some flexibility in the volume of LNG to be delivered to buyers, for the maintenance work, to enhance the plant's performance and optimise production.
With the resumption of production, the next LNG cargo, for delivery to Gaz de France was loaded into LNG Finima, which sailed out on Sunday the 26th of September 1999 to the LNG receiving terminal in Montoir, France.
Incorporated in 1989, Nigeria LNG Limited commenced production of LNG in September 1999 and has since delivered cargoes to Enel of Italy, Gaz de France and Botas of Turkey.
